BEGINNERS

Beginners For those who have never played an instrument before there is no better start than with NOW. Those who never had the opportunity at school and always wanted to play. Those who started at school and did not even reach grade one (about 70% of all school starters!)

Why learn with NOW?

It is affordable – at £2 an hour it’s an absolute bargain and you will find nothing cheaper.
Progress is very rapid when compared to school tuition, as you get 2 hours a week (as opposed to 20 minutes).
Anyone can learn from age 9 (younger children find it harder to maintain concentration for 2 hours).
Whole families are learning together including grandparents.
NOW has a structure course which incorporates theory and some history of music with the practical playing, reading of music, good rhythm, tone and intonation.
The course last for one year – at the end of which you can join Community Band B or continue more rapid progress in the IMPROVERS.
After one year you are usually at about grade 2 associated board level (schools generally one grade a year).
This is group learning and there are no examinations. It is very informative and fun at the same time.
Some NOW students have private lessons with us too, take exams and develop even faster. Please contact us for private lessons.
Payments are made at the beginning of each term for the whole term. You are not obliged to continue the next term
You can even rent-to-buy an instrument for as little as £9.10 a month – that means after one year the instrument belongs to you!
