JEMIMA CLARKE dipABRSM (flute) Born in Northampton (1986), Jemima was drawn to the violin at the tender age of seven and always desired to have a career in music. Attending Northampton School for Girls Jemima was always very involved in most of its musical activities and was indeed a great asset to the school. Before gaining a scholarship to Trinity College of Music (London), Jemima studied the violin with Jill Thoday (visiting teacher for the Music Service) and co-led the Northamptonshire Music Services' award winning County Youth Orchestra. Currently in her second year at Trinity she is studying the violin with Andrew Sherwood (a London based conductor, teacher, and soloist), and is leading a very successful string quartet. Also a keen flautist, Jemima studied with Andrew Bassey at Northampton School for girls and gained an Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music Diploma in her year 12; probably the youngest flautist to achieve such distinction in Northamptonshire. She continues her flute studies at Trinity College (as 2nd study) with Lynda Coffin who is a freelance soloist, recorded artist, and guest principal flute for the main London orchestras. |
